Despite having the world’s highest life expectancy and a strong public healthcare system, most Hong Kong people are unaware that our hospitals are among the world’s least transparent. Private hospitals are highly unregulated, while there is no information out there about patient outcomes from public hospitals.

Hong Kong’s public hospitals are already operating at maximum capacity, forcing them to regularly send patients to unregulated private hospitals. Hong Kong’s growing elderly population means that this problem will only get worse in the coming years, and whether you are rich or poor, everyone will be affected by this looming healthcare crisis if changes aren’t made.
