Women and Girls
We believe that girls are not brides. We believe that girls, like boys, should be given opportunities to realise their dreams and, in the process, help lift their communities out of poverty.
Our research shows that the education levels of ethnic minority girls are much lower than their male and Chinese counterparts. It also reveals that ethnic minorities are the poorest population in Hong Kong, with a family of four subsisting on a monthly household income of HK$15,000 or less; and poverty is closely linked to education of women and girls.
